At every Vetter Health Services facility, everything we do is based on the belief that individuals deserve dignity in life. We all deserve to live a life we choose - with independence, respect, and dignity. That shouldn’t change just because the scenery does. That’s why we’ve created environments where residents have the opportunity to enjoy life and nurture each other.

Shady Oaks is unique. Our concept of "Dignity in Life" goes right to the heart of senior care. It's providing our elders with a sense of well-being, of warmth and contentment. It's about feeling at home in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

Community Involvement: |
 The volunteering spirit is alive and
well at Shady Oaks. Our Volunteer Auxiliary is a very active part of daily life in our home.
Auxiliary-led activities appear with great frequency on our
weekly schedule. Programs which offer residents an opportunity to
become involved in mealtime preparation, do hands-on craft projects,
and keep up on world and local news have been added to delight our
resident population.At Shady
Oaks, our residents' spiritual needs are viewed to be as important
as their physical needs. We strive to offer multi-denominational
church services and Bible study classes a number of times each week.
Frequent church services - as well as church-sponsored birthday
parties and potluck luncheons at local churches - further ensure
that our elders remain an active and viable part of their
communities and their religious organizations.
At Shady Oaks we are pleased to
have developed a strong relationship with a number of political
office holders. This relationship is invaluable to our elders in
providing opportunities to remain politically informed and current
on the issues which face us as citizens of the United States. Visits
by local government officials as well as Representatives and
Senators are not a rare occurrence at Shady Oaks. We are committed
to providing a forum for open discussion of topical issues and
making it possible for our residents to participate in the electoral
process. Our belief is that this further ensures that our elders
remain connected to the vast world beyond Shady Oaks.
