Easter Morning Devotions Mark the Holiday
Residents attended Easter morning devotions on each of the four hallways. Life Enrichment hosted the devotions; residents each sat in their doorways to listen and participate. Via a YouTube video on Deeto, Pastor Roy Karlen from the Woodlawn church in Lake City shared an Easter message specifically created for the residents of Shady Oaks. After the sermon, everyone sang together for two favorite Easter songs: ‘The Angels Rolled the Stones Away’ and ‘He Lives.’ At the end of the Easter devotions each resident received a large, colorful plastic Easter egg filled with an Easter message and candy. These pretty eggs were lovely gifts from the 10th grade Religious Education Class at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lake City. Everyone enjoyed the devotions and appreciated hearing the thoughtful sermon from Pastor Roy, singing together to celebrate the holiday, and receiving the Easter eggs to enjoy in their rooms.
