The South-Central High School students enjoyed their time completing training, to become a certified nursing assistant. Led by instructor Shelby Wiley, students completed 35 hours of hands-on skilled training. Shelby stated, “I appreciate Shady Oaks allowing students into their facility for student learning.
We would like to Congratulate our Nurse Crystal H. for her accomplishments. She recently received her Registered Nurse Degree through Western Iowa Tech College. Her son Daniel, who is a certified nurses aide here at Shady Oaks, had the honor of pinning his mom during the ceremony.
A special thank you goes out to our nurses Rachel S., Carol C., Kim P., Crystal H., Shawna B., and John J. we hope you enjoyed your special week.
This week we are celebrating National Nursing Home week and todays theme fit in with the celebration "Nurturing Connections Through Learning a New Skill or Hobby. Today Deb J. Life Enrichment Coordinator, made a Gnome for the residents, which is one of her hobbies. After it was completed the residents in attendance had their name put in a drawing and staff member Lorelei L. drew out Cynthia M. as the winner. Cynthia received the Gnome that Deb made.
